Which future U.S. President did Seminole Chief Billy Bowlegs defeat at the Battle of Lake Okeechobee?  What mysterious government installation was planned for Chester County in the 1830s?  Which former state capitals have vanished from history?  Where was America's first superhighway?  Get the answers to these questions and more in the third installment of Ron Swain's Maps Alive! presentation series, presented as the August installment of our monthly Lunch & Learn lecture series.  As in the first two segments, Swain will use historic maps to illustrate political and social changes in our nation's history and illuminate little-known chapters in the story of the United States along the way.

Lunch & Learns are held in the Callie and John Rainey Conference Room in the west wing of Chapman Cultural Center.

Catered lunches will be available through Palmetto Palate, reserved in advance through our gift shop.  Tickets and a limited number of lunches will be available at the door.
