Historic Price House

Picture of the Thomas Price HouseThomas and Anne Price built this home on their 2,000-acre plantation in 1795. Mr. Price operated a general store and post office as well as a “house of publick entertainment” which provided room and board for stagecoach travelers. The work for these enterprises was performed by the enslaved population of the plantation. The Price inventory listed 24 enslaved people on the plantation in 1821.

Directions
Take I-26 to Exit 28 [Hwy 221] (This is southeast of Spartanburg). Take Hwy 221S toward Woodruff. Turn left at 2nd light onto Hobbysville Road and follow signs.
