
Educational Programs
We offer a variety of educational programs for students, youth groups, and adults. Teachers and youth group coordinators are encouraged to contact our education department to discuss customizing their itinerary to best meet the needs of their students and goals for the trip. Lunch & Learn
SCHA hosts a monthly Lunch & Learn welcoming authors, historians, artists, and experts of field and craft to present a topic of local interest and connection. Join us the fourth Friday of each month, January through October at the Chapman Cultural Center in the Rainey Conference Room.
Tickets are $5 for non-members, FREE to SCHA members!
Boxed Lunches are available for $10 through SCHA. Orders must be received by 5pm the day before the scheduled program.

History@Home
SCHA is excited to bring history into your at-home education through daily videos, comprehension activities, & hands-on Living History lessons.
Homeschool Fridays
The Spartanburg County Historical Association provides programming tailored to Homeschoolers and Homeschool Co-ops one Friday a month to explore topics of local, state, and national history. Designed for ALL AGES!
Registration is required.

Traveling Trunk
Bring the museum into your classroom! Cost: $120- includes a full presentation from a museum specialist, an additional $50 for in-person re-enactor. Each traveling trunk includes a writing theme, historic visuals, and touchable artifacts

Walking Tour
A guided walking tour is a great way to get acquainted (or re-acquainted) with Spartanburg’s beautiful and dynamic city center! Our friendly and knowledgeable guides will take you through Spartanburg’s history from founding to the present day, all while taking in the sights and sounds of our vibrant and growing downtown.
Tours begin at the Zimmerelli Plaza of the Chapman Cultural Center and ends at the Spartanburg Regional History Museum. Social distancing will be observed. Parking is available in the Saint John Street Parking Garage next to the Chapman Cultural Center om Liberty Street.


Field Trips
Explore, learn, and experience Spartanburg’s history. All Spartanburg County Historical Association field trips offer specific state academic standards in Social Studies and English Language Arts. These programs are available for all types of groups from students to Senior Adults and are modified to serve any audience.
