Homeschool Field Trip Day

from $6.00

Looking for a field trip without needing a big group?

Join other homeschool families for a hands-on, history-filled adventure! Our Homeschool Field Trip Days invite students of all ages to learn, explore, and make new friends—no large group or planning required. Just sign up, show up, and enjoy an educational day designed especially with homeschoolers in mind.

Field trips consist of a guided tour, a living history activity, grounds exploration, and a picnic lunch in our covered pavilion.

Guided tours will take you through the manor house, kitchen cabin and Rocky Spring Academy where you will learn about the history of the Moore Family, their settlement of the South Carolina Backcountry, the family involvement in the Revolutionary War and everyday life during Colonial times.

Living History Activity for mixed-age groups will either be butter churning or colonial toys and games.

Grounds exploration includes visiting the dry cellar, blacksmith forge, barn, smokehouse, wheat house, historic gardens, family cemetery and newly updated nature trail.
